Hi folks I just ordered a NORINCO JW - 105 [ 223 ] from Frontier Firearms. They seem to be good folks to deal with. [ on the fone anyway ] Do any of you have this rifle and any opinions ie best ammo etc. Going to be a truck / ute gun for the most part but cannot find too much info on it. thanx.

Just ordered mine tonight from CanadaAmmo. Looking forward to a project gun to play with. I have a Stevens 200 in .223 that I currently use for coyotes. It works well and is accurate, but no detachable magazine or iron sights. Apparently the triggers are very nice!?

My research tells me it's a 1 in 12 twist barrel, therefore stay on the lighter side for bullets. I reload and plan to try 50 and 55gr projectiles to start. I believe Winchester has fairly cheap 45gr varmint rounds, this might be a good start.

I'm out of town right now but my wife told me that she came home to a package leaning up against our door; it was this rifle. Nice!

Anyway, I'll let you know about it as soon as I get to look at it which will be this weekend.

I have received mine from Canada Ammo and so far I'm happy. It came completely covered in grease which took awhile to remove. The wood looks nice and so far I've just cleaned up the wood and metal, completed a thorough bore cleaning and mounted a scope.

I'll post pics this weekend.

I have an older one i got on the EE before this latest batch came in. The wood isn't the nicest, but it works. The bolt isn't as smooth moving back and forth as on a more expensive rifle, but it works. It goes bang every time, nice and light, shoots well with a scope on it, it's a decent walking around rifle you don't mind getting dirty.
