Im looking for the Norinco JW-20. Marstar says they are sold out and I dont see any other place stocking the norinco. Does anyone know where I could get one?

I know the JW-20 is a Browning SA22 clone. I just dont want to pay 600 dollars.

edit: and what do you mean a few more years for a new supply? Are you referring to the Browning or the Norinco?

TradeEx Canada has a few older Belgium made ones on their site for about the same price as the new Norc ones.

Worth a look.

I worked over a couple of the Norinco ones a few years back. Repeated feed problems, was the primary stoppage. It was related to the sharp edges around the chamber. Once they were dressed up to a nice radius, the cartridges fed reliably. The sharp edge was cutting into the bullet and catching it as it fed from the tube mag.

I replaced an extractor on one a few years back as well. A Browning extractor dropped right in. Dunno what a Norc part would have cost, but the Browning one was a it over $20, and was in stock when I asked...

IIRC, the two I worked on were from SIR, in Winnipeg. $110 or $120 each, on sale at the time. Long ago. :)

Pretty good buy for what they were. Expect to have to put a little work into them, and you be happy if you don't.

I have waited years for the Norinco lever action 22 to ever get into stock again. If they do get any they must be sold in days as I have never see them say anything but out of stock.

Im looking at these and I notice that they dont have the loading gate on the side of the stock like the newer brownings. Is it on the other side or do you pull the plunger all the way out and put in the rounds that way?

Don't Buy This Norinco!

I bought one of these from Lever Arms in Vancouver a few years ago. I had nothing but trouble because of poor finishing and materials. After much effort, Wolff springs and some Browning parts it worked reliably but I was so sick of it that I sold it on the EE. I hope it's still working well.

I would not recommend buying one. I still love the design and handling of this gun, but I'll save my pennies for the real thing.

Geoff, i purchased that one off you. Still got it, it works, but just okay...Can't enjoy it without a few burps, gotta load one first than load tube magazine. if you load tube than rack it, it will somtimes double feed and you have to push hard on the bolt. Cheap wood on this model... but when it wants to work, it goes fast! Glad you gave me a heads up on it and what to expect.

I want to try the real deal Browning out, think i'd be happier. :)

Not sure, to be perfectly honest. There have been a couple variations on those, and I have only played with the newer ones.

If you are interested, shoot the folks there an Email, and ask for some more pictures. They treated me pretty well, when I dealt with them.

Remington made some too, on that design. Model 24.

I have one of the Belgian models and the loading port is at the top of the thumbstock. I find its a bit more finnicky than my new one but if its kept clean its still pretty reliable. Definately worth the money. let me know if you have any other questions and I'll try to sort you out.

I seem to recall that the little spring that controls the cartridge feed was the weak link. As long as it was clean and clear, it would allow only one round to feed at a time.

I just picked one up today at Lanz shooting supplies in St Anns, great price under $200 with tax, nice little shop!
