Norinco JW-2000 loose fore-end fixes

There is a problem with the Norinco JW-2000 fore end. The fore end design is a botch job and does not follow normal design rules as far as the two flat headed screws go that hold it together. As a result, no matter how well I tighten the flat head screws (well, no lock tite), the screws loosen and after the recoil of 20 rounds the fore end is wiggling around again.

Norinco made a basic error in designing such a cheap ass hinged fore end release and then attaching it in a hap-hazard way. I wish they had just used a fastener to attach the fore end to the barrel section and skipped the rest. Could have saved a few bucks too.

Anyway, I wonder if I'm the only one to experience this, and if not, what others have been doing about it.

And to all you haters, the JW-2000 coach gun is alot of fun to shoot. It is the favorite when taking friends to the range. My favorite too. Well, not for clay targets. It shoots buckshot and shot very well, with the barrels well regulated for the same impact point. So I am keeping it and will work through the minor nuisances.

I have the same gun, and the fore end doesn't wiggle loose. I did lock-tite the two screws when I first got it.

And yes it is a fun gun, and its the one everyone wants to try out at the range.

My first one fit too tight and I could barely get it assembled. After six shots (light target loads) the stock cracked. My second one, the forend fits a bit loose but I've just put two strips of hockey tape on the inside where it mates to the barrels and it's been fine since. Same idea as Rally Guy I guess, just slightly more permanent if you actually disassemble the gun from time to time. I have also used some blue loctite on the side plate screws as per ISaidShotgun.

Loctite is your friend with this gun, I think. The only thing that hasn't come loose on mine is the bead, and it looks like it was screwed in THROUGH some kind of fibrous material, and the whole barrel was finished over that. It's like I have some wirey blued cotton stuck around the bead and rib. And what looks like slag splashed on the left barrel which took the finish off again...

Precision manufacturing it is not.
