About a year ago I bought my gf a Norinco JW-15-G in 22lr. It's a very good shooter even with the cheap bushy scope. I had to tinker with the mag to get it to feed right. I've read lots of good stuff on the JW-15 (22lr) but haven't heard much on the JW-23(22mag). Are they good shooters too? I'm curious if anyone has had any experience with the 22mag version. I want a beater 22mag and i'm not at all concerned with the finish as long as it shoots. It'll be expected to live a rough life.
Or should I wait and get something else? Perhaps a Stevens 305?Thanks.

Heres a pic of the gf's JW-15-G. Anyone no what the "G" stands for?

I had one, I had to sell it off to finance another purchase or else I would still have it. It had what I would guess was typical norico bedding (loose) but that was easy enough to fix. Accurate enough (for a 22 mag and a 4x scope) it was really peticular about the ammo you ran through it. I don't know if it is that much cheaper than a marlin or a savage I got mine as a trade. I did like the feel of the gun over all, good balace in the hands.

I have had a jw-23 now for a couple of years and after doing a trigger job and a bit of work to the stock i am very happy with it. It is not fussy about ammo. .45-90
