Does any one know how to remove the barrel from a Norinco JW 105 223. google has been no help...
A local shop has a used one im going to look at this weekend & it has been calling my name for a 300 blackout conversion or even a 9mm just for fun.

Norincos are usually clones so find out the parent rifle model and use that model usually works for finding close enough parts. I do believe the JW105 were based of CZ models. I think it might be based of the CZ 527 range.

Check out the NZ gun boards. Seems this sucker cracks receivers when removing barrels. Another post I just read said the barrel was off centre to the bolt face.

I heard somewhere it was based on a BRNO, which is what the CZ was also based on.

I believe those rifles have pressed and pinned barrels. Given the quality of them, I can't envision wasting a pile of money on one.

They are pinned in, I doubt it's worth the time and effort to rebarrel. As much as I personally like my jw-105 so far, if you wanted to change anything I'd probably just go buy a savage or rem action and go from there.

Mine is pinned as well.

The mag well is single feed and narrow, mine was so tight that rounds weren't lifting till I removed a bit of material, so any caliber with a wider case won't feed well without a lot of work.

I would leave as is and find a savage or similar, the action would have to be threaded as well if it can be done.
