I have a Norinco JW 15 24''barrel ,synthetic stock and the same one in the 'Backpacker' 13'' barrel( just about the perfect length for a truck grouse gun )They are not as finely finished as the CZ they are copied from, but what they lack in cosmetics, they make up for in accuracy and function. The hollow stock is easily rectified by adding non expanding foam, an easy fix.The model I would like is the JW15TH ( thumbhole) ,but nobody seems to be importing any Norinco JW 15 rimfires anymore. I have a 'wanted ' ad on EE,but no responses yet

Yes,my first Norinco was a JW23( 22 magnum ) with a wood stock,it was pretty clunky ,so I slimmed it down and refinished it in epoxy to harden it up ( they seem to use some sort of softwood, why I don't know) good rifle though ,and for the money you can't beat it.I put a 4x Bushnell 'varmint' scope on it,can't find any of those anymore either. The JW 15 in the synthetic thumbhole stock version sold for about $180 if I remember correctly and came in either black,or a camo finish.

One of the things about Norinco rimfires is they seem to do a run on them, but once they're gone, they're gone.

I have a Scorpio EM 332,which I assume is made by Norinco as well, but not sure what it was copied from.Very little information on them and you don't see any of them around either

There as an earlier EM 332 with a wood stock marstars brought in , but the Scorpio had a synthetic stock

I have a Scorpio as well as a JW 15 24". Both shoot amazingly well; however the Scorpio is internally and externally finished way better than most north american .22s; the JW took a heck of a lot of work to get it functioning smoothly.

The Scorpio/EMs are built on Anschutz tooling for a model Fifty-something rifle that they no longer make, so these are in effect Anchutz rifles, made in China; they are not really clones.

I love both rifles, but am most impressed with the Scorpio's short, tight and smooth action!

My JW15s worked fine right out of the box,and that seems the general experiance with Norinco, some are excellent, others need work.Got to admit they hit 'bingo' with the 'backpacker' though,it's a very convenient little 22 if you are looking for a nice grouse gun..

One thing I did learn was tooth paste makes for a good polishing compound for smoothing out stuff

And Die Makers Grease on the bolt for break-in keeps even the high spots lubricated!

Yes, a little work and they are slick as snot-you don't brag about 'Norinco ' but they are great value for the money and ideal 'working guns' that put small game in the pot.Grouse can't tell the diference anyway..
