Just picked one of these up for $180. Figured why not. Looks like a CZ that someone randomly attacked with an angle grinder. But it seems to work okay. Haven't got it out yet, curious about other owners experience with accuracy? Also will other CZ stocks fit? The stock stock is pretty crappy.

YouTube says it's a 2moa gun. Some nutters have sold them for 500$+ on the EE over the summer.... I saw 2 while I was looking. Settled for a 270$ Scorpio instead

CZ mags work, I think the gun might be patterned after a BRNO (early CZ/CZ predecessor). Someone more caffeinated that me can chime-in. :) Considering the sell prices on these guns, I don't think many people upgrade stocks, but I could be wrong? There is a good chance that whatever stock you're putting on will cost more than the gun itself.

I've had 2 of these, but the short, 13" barrel version. (JW-15A?) They liked CCI LR HP (subsonic hollow points) for accuracy, but I never really used mine target shooting. I do remember zeroing the scope on the second one I had, @ 50 yards..I think it was around an inch, slightly under. I didn't do a ton of load testing, it was my foul-weather/hiking rifle. (=winter)

They are rough, but smooth-out before long. I did a simple polish of the bolt-bottom, which helped. The synthetic stocks feel strangely heavy, but I'd welcome one back in the quiver. I don't believe they're a $500 gun (or even a $300 gun) but gun owners seem to be putting the squeeze on each other these days.

I have one, with the short barrel.

I fully dissassembled the rifle and mine looks well made.

I was also wondering if it can be restocked with a CZ stock…

Boyds do make stocks for the JW15 but it will cost more than the rifle.

I looked at the JW15 rifles a couple or few years ago. They were selling for $229 new so you got a reasonable price for a used example. The Scorpio seems to have replaced the rifle in popularity for the Chinese rimfire bolt action division. You can get the 20" Scorpio for $177 to $219 new.

The JW15 has a massive drop in the comb. When I shoulder one of these rifles the iron sights almost seem too high, never mind a scope. You can always add a bolt-on riser. I have also seen examples with sights mounted crooked. Not long ago these rifles were only $169-$189.

^good point, and very true.

Re: the Scorpio-I've been fighting the temptation to try one of the short versions. I really like those mags, and they're priced very fairly. (or were?) I bought one of the full-sized ones when they came out, but discovered it may have needed allot of TLC to even shoot decently. I've mentioned this in previous threads, but sold at a loss with complete disclosure on the poor accuracy. Buyer got to try one at about 1/2 the cost, and got some free mags.

I really like the ergonomics of the stock, sights were a bit tall but straight/good. Bolt handle ridiculously short. If anyone has bought a short Scorpio and it shot well out of the gate, I'm looking for even one good accuracy report to tempt me.

The 15's are good guns, dual lug like the BRNO's, I like mine, had the long one for a bit...24" barrel, it was nicely made but too long, kept the 13", it shoots really well, nice and handy.

Are any dealers currently selling the JW15 in Canada? It seems like the Scorpio has taken over. It would be nice to have both options.

I took it apart and cleaned it. Previous owner shot it while it was full of that grease Norinco likes to smear on everything. I may just refinish the stock and bed it for now. Need to find a 5 round CZ mag too.

I bought one from Bullseye got it home, and could not drift the rear sight far enough for it to hit the target without falling out of the dove-tail. They exchanged it for me. Second one the same. They gave me the distributors phone number, I called them and they asked me to send the rifle directly to their Gunsmith. Within a few days, he confirmed that it was a crooked barrel, and he told me he would find me a good one at the warehouse and send it to me. A week later a rifle arrived with a test target and a note that apologized for taking so long. The gunsmith explained that he tried 6 more rifles and the first five were in the same condition.

The one that arrived was indeed a fine shooter, but took a few hours with red-lead past and a diamond file to get it to run smooth. When I bought the CZ It was a perfect shooter out of the box, and fit me very well. The guy I sold the nork to was very happy and like me, found it shot better than he could. It loved Eley Sport ammo. My CZ loved CCI SV better. I sold the 455 and now have a 452 (which I will never sell).

A few others have them at our club, one has a wooden stock, and they are all great shooters. If you get a good one, they are good.

Well it looks like a scope has never been mounted and the previous owner didn't move the rear sight. Either it doesn't hit a thing or its dead on. Wish I had a range membership this year, would love to try it off a bench for accuracy.

I have one (short barrel). It's a close copy of early Brno and obviously since it's norinco the fit and finish is not up to early brno standards but better than many other nornincos.

Lots of cross over with Brno accessories like scope bases and magazine. I mounted a Leupold 4x Rimfore scope with Leupold rings and a base from Kenny, DIP ~ IIRC.

I've not shot mine past 100 yards

Shoots most ammo from very well to excellent depending on the ammo.

Aquila 60 grain 'sniper' round is really accurate out to 100. It hits the gongs at our range with authority (for a .22).

I swapped out the sling swivels for studs and can mount a bipod or a flashlight (for fighting zombie racoons and rats). The stiock pack holds extra magazine and the case (off ebay) hold extra mags (clips to some folks) and a cleanign kit with a rod.

It's taken about a 1000 rounds to smooth out the action but it's not been a hardship....

It's one of the more fun rifle to shot that I own.

Your stock seems to drop alot at the comb. Someone else mentioned that. Mine feels quite similar to a CZ 455

Just tried a scorpio today at the club, was surprise with the accuracy and softness of the trigger, for 200 bucks thats a really good rifle.

They are pretty decent, the original NS522's are really nice, the Scorpio is not quite up to those but definitely decent for the price.
Even the last batch of JW20's we saw (Browning SA22 clones) with the "Golden Tiger" tags on them, built in the 80's were really good deals for $170. I ended up getting a few of them, full tear down required to get all the old whale oil off, but they all run great and very fun semi's, really accurate too.

I have a JW15 and a Scorpio 322X. The Scorpio’s fit and finish and ergonomics are way better. No comparison.
