Norinco JW15A Thumbhole

Hey all,

Looking to purchase MY first .22lr, my dad has a winchester model 1890 chambered in .22 short and i've been shooting with a variety of other guns, pistols, centerfire and rimfire.

Before coming to the JW15A i was looking at the Savage MKII series, particularily the BTV, (im in love with thumbhole stocks) but being a high school student i just dont have the bugdet. So when i was browsing Frontier Firearms's inventory and found this rifle, with the thumbhole stock for <200 dollars, i got pretty excited. :dancingbanana:

Now, i understand that there will be a large accuracy difference between the savage and the norinco, but the reviews online seem to suggest that this is a quality rifle, if only for utility purposes. The trigger is not too heavy and breaks crisply and the bolt is semi-smooth, im told.

So if any of you guys own/have shot or know anything about the rifle, your input would be greatly appreaciated.

There is a set screw covered in black paint located under neath the bottom side of the trigger. Unscrew it untill you achieve the desired trigger pull then grab some nail polish and pait it. This will stop it from unscrewing more on you. Then have fun shooting. I choose the 13 inch barrel and find standing up shooting 12g spent shells at 25 meters is boring after a while cuz this rifle is that dam accurate. So I proceed to try to break clays at 200 meter's sitting.

Thanks man, I think that's what I needed. Basically the gun goes bang bang but not bling bling, and accuracy isn't great in some cases, and good in others. That's OK, it'll be my second gun, I'm on a tight budget and I really wanted a thumbhole stock.
