Norinco Lever (no) action........

Give it a good thourough cleaning and see if this fix the problem. If it doesn't, you might want to go back to the dealer and see if you can exchange it for one that works...

If you do a search for JW21, these guns seem to be a hit-or-miss, some works and some don't.
Personally, I have little patience to thinker with a new gun that doesn't work.

Don't know about you... But I'd be a little weary about buying another used gun from that dealer... and I wouldn't want any of my friends to buy a used gun from that dealer... But that's just me.

If you're looking for a lever gun, they should be able to order you a new Browning BL22 (about $525) or a new Henry (about $375). Yes, they are more money than the Norinco, but they are well worth it.

2 Interesting things happened at the dealer: One: No refund, just in-store credit. Wait a minute - I bought this gun to have a rimfire lever - not just another gun. Exchange not possible (no other rimfire lever in the shelf, except of the one which is 3 times the price). Other interesting point: Salesperson takes the rifle, asks a colleague if it should go to the gunsmith because there is a problem, both agree that it is "just a Norinco", and put it back in the shelf for sale, 25 dollars cheaper. ???

Anyways, I just had bad luck (and so will the one who will buy it next). No bad feelings, just surprised that things are handled this way. I will use my credit for maybe a CZ or a Savage, just something that works (even if it costs a bit more).

That just sounds super shady. They put it back onto the shelf at reduced cost? A non functioning gun?? And you have no bad feelings??? If it was me I'd use the store credit and then never go back there again.
