My Norinco M-14S (recent M-305B package) was shooting 2" groups or better with handloaded Hornady 150g FMJs. From researching on the net, it seems that this is pretty good groups for a Norinco with nothing done and less than 50 rounds. From what I found, the stock Springfields are no better and cost many times as much. Anyone getting better groups on the unmod`d factory rifle :sniper:

M305-m14s

I bought my Norinco M305 to see if I liked it. It had been all accurized, and when I got it, it shot 1" to 2" groups, no problem! I liked this rifle so much, that I ordered a Custom M14S (with the M25 Receiver) from LRB. I had an original USGI Springfield Scope for the LRB, and I regularly get groups under 1" at 100 yards. I've got several groups under 3/4" with my HandLoads. This LRB is my never sell Rifle, although it had a major manufacturing defect in it from new. It could not be disassembled. M14 Doctor found the problem and fixed it. It seems the slot for the Operating Rod had not been ground out enough, so the Op Rod could not be removed. He ground out the slot to proper dimensions, and it's OK now. I didn't get much help from LRB on this. They just said, Send it back and we'll take a look at it. Only by that time (it took almost 8 months to get it into Canada) and the Import/Export charges went up so dramatically that sending it back was way too expensive. I was really P.O.'d by this for a couple of 'years', but I've finally made my peace with that flaw, and this is now my favorite Rifle. If I could only have 1 firearm, this would be the one!

When I had mine they were shooting about 3 inches at 100 yards, however I was shooting unsupported prone, and it was a few years ago, and my skills as a shooter have greatly improved since then.

This should be in the MBR forum though...
