For those of you that have a Norinco Woodsman, NEVER take it apart :runaway:

My last adventure was having the recoil spring come out during the last detail strip. That was fun, obvious were it went, just a b1tch to get back in...

Last night's adventure was not so obvious.

This part fell out during the frame strip (pin was loose).

I believe it should be fitted around the safety rod (only pin that matches the diameter). I see no reference to this part in the real Colt Woodsman diagram. Can this be a part only exist on Norinco's?

I put it back together and it seems to function normally without the part. What could this mystery part be???

Does anyone have pics of their M-92 internals? I've never been stumped by reassembling any gun (or other), so this is really pissing me off.

I think that part 19 is the magazine release catch & part 36 is the sear.

I took mine apart once & got it back together with all the parts.
Sliced my finger open on a VERY sharp edge so it stays together now.

Good luck.

Colin is correct on the sear and mag release.

I've looked at quite a few Woodsman schematics and can't locate that part.

If anyone has the slide off their Norinco, I'd apriciate a pic of the internals focusing on the safety lever and pin.

This is why I only take the grips off and then flush the snot out of it with brake clean and then, WD-40 and then gun oil. I wonder if it is part #6 of the first diagram, the hole in it is quite large, it's not part of the slide lock is it?

We've always been told (as a Weapons Tech) that after re-assembly if the wpn still functions and is serviceable with parts left over....your a damn good tech!!!
On the same note, I am currently in th eprocess of purchasing a Norc M-93, same principle eh?

I am also thinking that it may be part of the slide lock.
There are not that many pieces that you can leave out & still have the gun function.

Mine came with a manual that I think has a parts schematic.
Do you have one ? If not I can scan it for you.

step 1: put all pieces of the m-92 woodsmen into a bag
step 2: take a large sledgehammer and smash up the bits in the bag
step 3: throw all of it off a bridge into a body of water
step 4: go and buy a ruger.

I havent had one for years, but I remember this piece. The same thing happened to me. It acts on the sear if I remember correctly. Was it part of the magazine safety? I cant remember. upright, with the hoizontal bit pointing inwards.

Dont feel bad. I gashed my thumb on sharp edges taking the back strap off the first time. And I lost my return spring once too.

All that said. $150 for a little .22 pistol. Cant beat that.

Step 5 take Rugar to range, shoot it
Step 6 Go buy $200 in addon to make it shootable
Step 6 diassemble to clean
Step 7 Fail to reassemble correctly
Step 8 Get friggin pissed off at spending $7-800 on a plinker
repeat steps 1-3
Buy a M93 for $175

funny, but ive had a few ruger pistoils, and they have all been great, now dissasembly, hahaha thats another story. i once tried for 2 days to get that stipid pin swivel thing in place. kept getting frustrated, and leaving it before i smashed it with a hammer. come to think of it, i havent fired it since.:p just not a fan of those norinco fugly sticks.

There is another solution.

Buy a Walther 22 and have the slide break into pieces.

My Norinco is not , shall we say hand fitted, but for the price it is a good deal.

Buy the Ruger and don't bother to do the full reassembly. Just squirt some cleaning s**t where you think it needs it and keep shooting :)

Ran into this problem myself. If I remember right it sits on the safety and interacts with part36 in the second diagram, it was a real b*tch to figure out where it went and how it fit, but everything works so I guess I got it right.

Just played with a ruger in the store, goddam thing bit me when I tried to lower the slide! Not the greatest design in my opinion, if i was going to spend that much money I would get something else.

I'm trying to picture how that would happen...

That much money? Like ~$300 new?
