Norinco M14 2006

Mine is marked M14 .308 CJA SFLD MICH NORINCO MADE IN CHINA . I take it the serial number indicates date of manufacture, because mine begins with 2009.
 
2006 is a great year to work with. I'd even consider one of those for rebarreling, as a matter of fact, I have rebarreled that vintage with great results! Yup, it was a Krieger Hvy barrel I put on that fine receiver. :D

2005-2007 were after any early teething problems and before the rash of shorty problems. I've had 2 2006's and they were the tightest, best shooting Norc's I've seen. The gas system alignment on my latest 2006 is a thing of beauty. If you have a chance to get one, give it a look over, but it should be good!
 
The receivers of the 2005 to 2007 series of imports are gems. The rifles themselves have all the common QC issues generally and not as tight of headspace as we have seen in batches like the 2009's and some of the newer marstar ones.... But as a builder and tweaker of a great many of these rifles, when I build a keeper on a norinco receiver.... Preferably it's on a 2005 to 2007 ;)
