During disassembly, a guy from one of the groups I'm in found that his Norinco M305 / M14 appears to have some damage. He said the last time he had it out (which last year, a long-ass time ago), it was working without any problem whatsoever, e.g. fed properly, went bang when it needed to, and extracted normally. Not much of an issue at the moment, can't take it out again until the mine-blowingly stupid ban is overturned.

How bad does this look? What would cause something like this, and what would need to be done to repair?

Sorry about the pics quality.

looks 100% normal to me.
All my barrels have the same details, even the aftermarket ones
Looks like all the scap norinco barrels in my bin too.
I see no damage to the rifle in those pics

if the rifle failed to fire properly before the ban, and it was stored for some time. I would suspect a stuck gas piston or a loose cylinder plug but going by your pics of what you think is damage...... there's no damage being shown in your pics.

I'm with 45ACPKING.....Not seeing any "damage" I'm not sure because of the angle of the pictures, but it looks like the M-305 version of M-4 feed ramps.

Looks fine to me....

Thanks everyone, pretty sure that clears it up. Now to get that ban removed so it'll be able to be taken out again. Thank you again.

I'm with ya there! I crunched out a bunch of new handloads to test just in time for the Turd to drop the ban hammer. I hope enough Canadians can see through his bullsh!t.

Hopefully soon enough! Not sure if its your first M-14, but they are fantastic rifles.

Kicking myself because I passed up the chance to get one with a case of ammo years ago for cheap-cheap. Should have just done it and dealt with the wife's ire, but I guess we always see more clearly out of the rear-view mirror. My Remington 870 is all the fun I get these days.

You really think the ban will be removed or overturned? I'd genuinely love to think so, but I can't see it. I don't want to sound pessimistic, but I think there is a much higher chance that it stays in place than there ever is that its repealed.

non compliance will be the failure of trudeaus attempted gun bans.

Lots of folks I know out in the country are rethinking even renewing thier license so as to not be identified by the guvment as a gun owner.
