Norinco m305 rear sight issue

I'm trying to remove the rear sight, I have the elevation knob maxed out, but after I loosened the windage knob screw the knob just spins and spins but won't come off. Also the screw and little ring come out when I turn it.

is elevation screw tight? if loose problems can occur during assembly and disassembly
but sounds to me like the common stripping and jamming in the workings of the elevation knob/pinion shaft
in this case, new sights are in order, there's no way round it.
1/8th punch set on tip of pinion shaft in center of windage knob, and tap the shaft out
replace with usgi m14, m1 garand/bm59 or springfield m1a sights

Yeah the elevation screw is tight, I guess it is probably stripped (which is annoying because I've never removed it before or anything) I'm putting on a CASM mount so I won't have to worry about the botched sight anyway.

Good timing i just had to pry my rear sights off with a screwrdriver.2 nights ago....

Standard issue with these rifles. Replace them.

Not sure how to fix your issue cause mine came off easily. I installed the CASM 2 about a week ago and it works awesome! Follow the installation instructions and happy shooting!

Ha, that was the video I was consulting when I was removing it. I ended up just banging it out with a punch and hammer.
