What's everyone's thought on these? I just picked one up for $66 (shipped) from Moving Target, and it seems a hell of a lot better than my original Chu wood stock. I fitted a Boyd's unfinished walnut stock to it, but I was never happy with the weight and bulkiness of it. Plus the stock sling cuts and tool kit cuts weren't included with the Boyd's, so I'm kind of glad to lose it.

I am the opposite. I got rid of the plastic stock and am quite happy with a "finished" oil walnut Boyd stock. I has the stock sling cuts and tool kit pockets. I don't find it any more bulky that the stock plastic stock.

My favourite stock, however, is the the USGI glass stock. Mine is bedded and fits like a dream.

is it the plastic one that the newer rifles are coming in? or some other type of stock?
i'm not a fan of them but they are an improvement if you have a crappy chu wood stock, some are quite nice. BUT for 66.00 bucks, what the hell, that's a bargain as i feel the new plastic m14 stocks on the newer rifles are definately a 100.00 stock at retail.

Although it is on hold at the moment while I catch up on custom work for clients, I am nearly finished setting up to start pumping out standard m14 stocks in custom composite, along with my other custom stocks. Pricing is yet to be set but i'm guessing a msrp in the 300+ range. all the ergonomics of a nice fat walnut stock, but in a much lighter custom composite, drop in, usgi spec receiver bedding, you supply the sling loops and stock ferrule from your existing chinese stock and i'm working on a source for rubber buttpads as the rear will not accept the m14 buttplate, not this version anyways.
a show of interest would be in order ;)
