Hi guys,

I have spotted a nice Norinco M16 clone (m311-3), which is in .222 rem., would it be a good buy ? I'm a little concerne about the availability of that caliber.

950$ including 300 cartridge, should i go for it ?

Thank you !.

It's .223 - not .222. If they are telling you it's .222, they are wrong. No on makes a .222 AR15 barrel (to my knowledge).

$950 in my opinion is too high. I sold mine a while back for $675. 300 cartridges of ammo is not worth $275!

Keep in mind (as I'm sure you know), it's a restricted firearm.

If you can get it with the ammo for $750 or less, it's a good deal.

Yes, Lever has one or two 222 rem guns. At the very least they would be collectors items. Likely made for France or another country that bans "military" calibres.

And they are Norincos? I've never read about any other calibre than .223.

If it truly is a .222, I wouldn't buy it. Regardless of the calibre, I wouldn't consider a Norinco to be a collectors item. :D

Before posting things, i normally double check my info ;) Yes, it is .222, like this Colt one. Yes, i do know it's restricted.

Thank you guys for your answers, i'm gonna hold on on this one and continue my search ;)

.222 an obscure cartridge? .223 Remington was developed from .222 mag which came from .222 Remington. .222 is a delightful cartridge!!!
