Norinco M311

what do you think of the Norinco M311?
Anyone owned one before? hows is it?
Is it restricted or non-restricted? I see that it says it has a 20 inch barrel so im guessing its non-restricted

you should be able to find lots of threads on the 311, basically its a cheap entry level AR that seems to work well enough...

and since its an AR, its restricted by name, even my .22 rimfire AR was restricted...

Sorry dude, restricted. Never owned one...some people seem to like them. They look better with original furniture from what I've seen (butt stock, hand guards)

Fairly good rifle. Just put some M16A1 furniture on her and strip off the crappy Chinese paint.

Can it takes RIS/RAS handguards?

If the memory serves I think there is some company converts M311 into M4 look-alike carbine with short barrel(14.5" I think) and flat-top receiver...... I could be wrong but I think saw it in some website which listed it for sale.

I was thinking about it but have decided against it. It will be my first AR so I was looking for something I won't have to change to furniture and refinish it. I have decided to get 20" 1/9 Stag Arms lefty AR
Going back to the C311 they are very reliable from what I heard.
