Just curious if anyone of you guys who posted saying your M4 wouldnt lock open on the empty magfixed the problem. Mine was easily fixed and am just curious if any of you were able to fix yours and what you did. Ive read posts where people give suggestions but no responses if they worked. Mine was simply the buffer was screwed in too far and the bolt would not cycle back far enough for the bolt catch to grab.

Some people say the stock buffer spring is too stiff, for me it was my buffer tube screwed in too far. Try unscrewing it one turn then next time you go out see if it happens.

What style/weight of buffer does it come with? I'll bet that Norinco never did a lot a gas testing to see how the system would operate with light ammo (sub-55g). If they failed to up the chamber diameter, then the cycling may be too fast for the short barrel (14.5?) and you'll get short strokes. Try a 62g bullet, or find an old AR-15 buffer (not the spring) that's either a single 'H' or unstamped. It may be light enough to let you enjoy less work on stoppages.

Having said that, if all it took was a single turn on your buffer tube, all the better. Enjoy the gun.
