Norinco M4 range report and pics. (plus vortex strikefire and magpul flips)

Went out with my norinco M4 to test out and finally sight in my strikefire and magpul flip up sights. Every time Im out with it in the past was usually with friends and it becomes the toy everyone want to play with.

So here is mine, yankee hill diamond free float, vortex stikefire red dot, troy foregrip, and magpul flip up sights.

Using Remington 55gr fmj at 50y first ten rounds with the red dot looked like this shooting standing, no rest.

Second ten rounds same target and with a flinch shot.

Next I turned off the red dot and flipped up the sights, same distance as the others, I shot ten rested, and ten offhand standing. Grouping well but a little low of bull. 50y again.

Next moved out to 100ish y and tried the red dot again on a rest and a mags worth standing offhand...

So far I have not cleaned it after about 1000 rounds or so, except break in period. Some clp to keep it lubed, no problems, no jams...
Just an earplug under the rear takedown pin to stop some wiggle:p

For what I am doing with it, the nork is great!
 
Thanks for this, my next step is to get an M4/AR. Just not sure which to get, price is important, unfortunately.
 
As much as that rifle comes at a sweet price for what you get, I'm saving up to buy an american or better yet a Canadian made AR.
 
The Norc is a good rifle for those that want to get into the sport with minimal costs. I personally would save for something more higher end, but in the end if u can place the bullet in the center with no issues from the gun thats all that matters.

nope, when i got the magpul sights, the instructions said not to place on gas block, so Ive kept it back a little from the cut down front sight under the rail so I can see how hot its actually getting


When I bought this, there was no mention of a Canadian made AR, If the price is right Id get one of those too, but to me this was a platform to get used to the AR and be able to toy around with. For the 1500-2k bare bones higher end ar rifles, I can get something nicer Im more interested in.....like a nice new handgun.

This was a project and for eventual 3 gun use, not safe queen too expensive to shoot gun

Is there actually any difference between the cheap Norc M4s and the higher end $2K+ AR rifles besides branding? Looks like it's built the same and I haven't seen much complaints about the Norc M4s quality either.

fit and finish type things are better on the expensive ar's I cant speak to the process of materials used though

QC is more strictly controlled in higher end AR15s and you can bring them with you if you move to the States I think. I wouldn't fret too much about it though. The norc AR is a fantastic entry into the black rifle world and can generally outshoot most shooters anyways.
 
Thanks for the review!

I'm a dedicated Stag shooter, but I don't begrudge those that go with the Norincos; I'd rather see guys out shooting a cheaper gun than not shooting at all. Every guy who buys one of these and shows up at a range and lets his friends shoot it is doing a good thing for our society.
