Norinco M4 range report

How much are the Norinco m4's guys? are there alot of them around now?

I would be surprised if there is any left at the only place offering them right now. I own quite a few Norinco's, including the CQ311, but for a CAR model AR for $899, I will spend the few extra hundreds for US model, or wait a while to get a long term review on the M4.

FWIW - I had a CQ311 for a while. It would consistently clover leaf 3 rounds at 25 m on the bench. That was shooting Federal AE. I'm sure this M4 should be similar. The Chinese have only gotten better at firearms since.

I am pretty sure any gun in the world benched can cloverleaf at 25 meters.

There is more than one place selling them . & it is more than a few extra hundred for a US AR . Try around $500 to $600 more for a new US made M4

Just saw a Norinco M4 at Pullens in Victoria today. I was impressed. I had to use all my will power not to pull out the credit card and buy it right on the spot.

The finish is MUCH better than the picture posted on Lever's web site.

Took a look inside - it looked decent - minor tool marks and such - but I did note that the carrier key was staked (a good thing).

I was struck by how light it is. Much lighter than my T97.

I'd like to have one. Get em while they last guys - they are selling quick.

I just got back from Pullen's - I have no will power (but at least I admit it) I'm actually going to try the upper on my Armalite lower as well as the Chinese lower. They are great value for the money, given the problems with getting short barrels from the US, etc. For those dying to know it appears to be a direct copy of an M4 with out the joy button . The front sight appears to be taper pinned (no I didn't pull them but one end is thicker than the other), bayonet lug is there, flash hider is a screw on with crush washer and the stock collapses as it should. The trigger isn't bad for a service rifle either. We'll see how it does as soon as I can get the paper on it.

You lucky SOB! :D Gosh I wish I didn't have all my money tied up in scope mounts right now!!!

Looks good.

As far as the accuracy bit goes, it's a new gun. How many people shoot to the guns capability the first time they take it out? A few more range trips and the groups will probably pull in a bit. It's also a carbine...it's not meant to be a tack driver, it's meant to put rounds into a man sized ..."target". I'd say its defonitly doing that.

How do you find the sight picture set up as it is? I need more eye relief with my leupold, but wondering if my bushnell would be better suited to my AR.

This will shock a few people but the actual "MilSpec" for accuracy in an M4 Carbine is 10 shots into............Five Inches! at 100 yards
