I picked up a float tube for my Norinco M4orgery. i was lookin forward to installing it myself until I read the Mystic saga of sight block pins and barrel nut from Hell.
Instead, I took it to a pro. I squirted some kroil (penetrating oil) on the nut the day before. It got into the threads and the nut came off with an extension bar on the nut wrench.
As for the pins, the pins are tapered, so you have to hit it on the small end. It stcks out a tiny bit from the sight base. He put a large punch (quarter inch) on the pin and hit it. It moved flush - breaking it loose. It then then punched out easily with a small punch.
I installed a 2 x 7 scope sight on a second set of rings, to replace the shotgun scope I use for shooting CQB. This scope is better suited for shooting longer ranges. I used it to shoot a match at 100,200 and 300 yards. There was no load development, but a moderate load of H335 under a Hornady 68 gr match bullet grouped very well.
At 200 yards, shooting rapid fire off a sandbag, I got a group just under 2 minutes.
