I can think of worse things. But really if you're not going to do a field strip, clean and oil then simply wiping off the outside briskly would be fine as well.
If you have a .22 cleaning kit then lock the slide back and run a dry patch down the bore. You really don't want a lot of the packing oil grunging up the bore. It can cause the bullet to "slam" into the wave of lube and mess up the whole recoil cycle. Bores need to be dry patched so there's the lightest possible oil film left behind. And a gun which was dipped, bagged and boxed definetly needs to have the bore dried out somewhat.
