I just got my Norinco M93. I'm wondering how I should clean it (without taking it apart) before i bring it down to the range. Would simply wiping it with some WD-40 suffice?

I can think of worse things. But really if you're not going to do a field strip, clean and oil then simply wiping off the outside briskly would be fine as well.

If you have a .22 cleaning kit then lock the slide back and run a dry patch down the bore. You really don't want a lot of the packing oil grunging up the bore. It can cause the bullet to "slam" into the wave of lube and mess up the whole recoil cycle. Bores need to be dry patched so there's the lightest possible oil film left behind. And a gun which was dipped, bagged and boxed definetly needs to have the bore dried out somewhat.

I was planning to pass a bore snake with some solvent on it through the barrel a few times. That should take care of the bore, shouldn't it?

I would take the pistol apart to clean and oil but I'm not to comfortable with that yet. I'd have to study a few videos of the procedure first.
