I don't have mine in front of me, but yes, I think mine is wearing in the same area. It's a contact point, so there's going to be some wear. Yours looks pretty worn down, though. Are you using the slide stop to release the slide after inserting a new mag? That will cause increased wear over using the slingshot method. Check the corresponding contact surface of the slide stop, too. I wouldn't be surprised if there's excessive wear on the slide stop, as that's a very small piece of steel catching your slide. Much smaller, even relatively speaking, than a slide stop on a centerfire pistol where there is much debate about using the slide stop as a slide release.
Solutions? Maybe you can just reprofile that corner of the slide to give it a nice square edge again. If the wear to the slide stop is not too severe, this might be enough to let the slide stop catch it. You could probably remove 1mm or even less, just enough for it to catch. The slide would be stopped just slightly forward from where it is supposed to stop, but with any luck it won't be so far that it fails to strip a fresh round from the mag. Actually, that won't be a problem, either, since now you'll be using the slingshot method to release the slide.
