Received mine today from a site sponsor. A fellow from Sask Energy phoned me and said I have a package at their shop. Okay???

CANPAR guy was a wee bit out on the address, but it is a small town, and the Sask Energy guy, rather than having a fit, simply phoned me. Good man! Small town consideration of others.

Shotgun seems to be okay, not an inch thick in grease, at least. I ordered a second magazine, for two reasons: if the original proved to not work properly, I'd have a second one to play with; and if they both work okay, I'd have two!

I'll take it out on a nice day a put it through its paces. I have enough shotgun ammo in different brands, I should be able to find something to work reliably. I'm thinking it will make a good tractor/combine companion. We'll see. :)

I realize it's not a big$$ shotgun, so will keep my expectations reasonable. :p

Well, I took the Norinco out this afternoon. Only fired 10 rounds, as it was too cold to fool around. First magazine was mixed rounds, second was Federal Top Gun. I cranked them out as fast as I could with no failures or jams. It will take some getting used to, as I have used a pump very little over the years.

I'll have to pour some slugs and fire up my LoadAll II. If I use it for a tractor gun, I'll be wanting to shoot skunks from a bit of distance, so slugs are somewhat necessary.

I’ve had one for a few years now and the weak link has always been the mags, that said they are easy to tweak and tune if you do end up with some mags that give you feeding problems.

Otherwise the shotgun itself is as reliable as a grizzly normally is, I’ve been able to get mine to feed 3” somewhat better over the years. Which can be an issue depending on the length of the crimped shell, there’s not much clearance in the mag for most 3” shells to be stripped out and feed. They tend to hit the front of the mag and jam, stick to 2 3/4” shells.

what are better for reliability the metal mags of the plastic

No clue, I only have metal mags. The main tweaks involved bending the lips and dimpling the nose of the follower upwards to increase the angle that the shell leaves the mag, minimizing nose dives and jams. Iirs the plastic mags have plastic lips and follower so you can’t bend much on them, I stick with metal mags.

This one is 2 3/4".

The Grizzly barrels are chambered for 3”, at least everyone I’ve seen has been stamped 2 3/4” and 3” shells.

Both my mags are plastic. They fit tight but are getting easier to insert and lock in place. The shotgun works good with factory loads. I fired about a box of CLEVER on Sunday, worked okay. Loud little bugger and the other guys figure it is heavy. The first time I tried it, it wouldn't feed a reload, but upon inspection, the round did not have a nice taper at the crimp.
