Hi, quick question the 7.62 x 39 Norinco non-corrosive FMJ ammo lead core. I realize you can not hunt with FMJ, however if you were to grind off the tip just a little so the core is exposed can you hunt with it than since it's not FMJ anymore?

I don't know if this would qualify legally as a "soft-point" or not.

I do know that the bullet would not expand like a soft point. A FMJ has a fairly thick jacket, whereas a proper soft point has a much thinner jacket in the nose section.

Buy a box of soft point ammo. If you only need 1 or 2 shots for each kill, it will last a long time.

there have been instances where fmj shed the jacket in the barrel from this, next shell bulges/splits the barrel. Just buy a kinetic bullet puller, and a handloader, put in some 150gr. 303 bullets, and have at her
