Ok, the idea is to bring in one place all the CGN available and useful information about Norinco NP 22 (and NP34).
I ran several tag searches for the model /s, and noticed that sometimes the forum search engine brings different results (i.e. NP 22; NP-22; np22, etc).

I think it is nice to have all the useful threads/ posts/information , problems and their solving about the NP22/34 already available on the forum and on the net.
There are multiple links below. The title can provide more information what these are about in general. There are also threads with excellent posts from CGN users and I believe it is best to leave them in the thread, so some sifting through and reading will be required.

I have tried to organize the links by major topic, however in the threads sometimes there is a ton of other helpful information. Pay attention to the thread dates, as the newer threads provide more up-to-date information.

Please feel free to add any useful info, problems and solutions - specific to these models, based on your experience.

Below, there are some facts and FAQs about the NP 22, that would be helpful especially for people just starting to look into this model.
I will keep this information as current as possible. Please excuse some possible link duplication.

About Noricno NP 22:
Norinco NP 22 and P226 compatibility:
NP 22 is a clone of the first SigSauer P226 generation : pre-1996 (some say 1992) design.
(This is important to know when ordering parts/springs.)
Sig P226 internals fit NP 22 (some minor fitment might be required). Spring kits fit 100%.
SRT trigger kit fits no problem (P226 > NP22)
Firing pin from Sig 226 fits NP 22.

NP 22 grips are compatible with P226, BUT grips screws are not. E2 grips and Hogue G10 finger grooves seem like the most recommended for improving your NP 22 grips.

Sig and Norinco Slides are not interchangeable .. at least without some modifications.

Magazines:
Sig P226 mags fit NP 22, although some minor filing of the mag catch opening could be required.
You can also use MegCar magazines.
Norinco NP58 magazines in 40S&W . They work very well with the NP22, hold 13 rounds of 9x19 mm

Sights:
sights are not compatible with P226; NP 22 front sight is larger and milling is required to fit.. See some threads below for sights projects.

Thanks for the good words! It is really putting all CGNs wisdom and experience in one place. Will be nice to hear whether you agree with facts above or you have others i haven't listed.

Can someone speak to the effecf of replacing stock NP22 springs with Wolff ones for example?
Got a Performance Pak and wondering if these will improve the DA/SA trigger pull significantly or it is noticeable for experienced shooters only? Are there any negatives in replacing the stock springs.
Also is it DIY work?
Thanks for your responses.

I seem to be of the minority but I put the performance pack spring kit in my NP22 and got non stop light strikes.
Put the stock springs back in and was good as new.
Worst of all I didn't notice a huge difference in trigger pull. I don't have a gauge though.

god i love it when other people than me let their OCD show!

just to add, the Hogue Overmolded Sig 226 grips fit on the NP22 perfectly but they make it super thick!
id say my hands are medium to large and its a mitt full to hold with the grips on, but they are a hell of a lot better than the hard plastic stock ones that they come with.

Thanks for posting this, I'm thinking about getting one of these pistols; this is a great resource!

A question for NP 22 owners. My np throws brass cosistently 5-6 feet high and right. To the point that the guy next to me on the range had to move.. due to the brass rain. He was actually one spot over so there was an empty lane in between. Got the np used off EE. Claimed round was 150 so .. all stock and it seemed so upon disasembly. From the web i know stock recoil of the NP 22 is 24 - 26 pounds. I've got a Wolff Performance pak springs set for Sig P226 ... yet to be installed. So my question is .. replace just recoil (18 pounds) or replace all (trigger, hammer and pin)?

On my recent purchase new NP22 the Hogue grips did t fit without some modifications. They would t fit tight and close up the gap on the back strap without cutting some extra relief in them for the main spring retainer and roll pin. Also they seem even thicker than yours. My slide release is almost against the grip panel and very hard to get a grip on with my thumb.

I wish we had a thread like this for NZ CZ clones; I have had one for a couple months and each time I shoot it, I like it more than the time before!

Hah .. i was debating for a while to get an NZ vs NP. So you almost would have had same thread , as I started it. Not too late though ..NZ is still in the wishlist.

IMO, everyone should have one! BTW, I have a Norinco 1911 on it's way; satin Chrome with adjustable rear sight and fiber optic front, 5" in .45. I have heard and read so many good things about these as well, I am keen!
