I have a NP-22 - I am the second owner, and about 8 mags in over a few sessions, the slide release spring has broken.

This spring is what holds the slide release out of the way. I found the broken spring in the bottom of the lower section.

Is there an easy place I can get a replacement? Is there any cause for such a malfunction other than wear? I'm told the firearm has about 2000 rounds through it.

FIXED! Thanks for all the information everyone. 5 minutes after the part arrived, it is in, and the pistol is fixed.

I called everyone in Canada - nobody had or could get parts.

The good news is the part from Brownells arrived today "Made in Germany" "Spring-33" made by Sig Sauer "Spring, Slide Catch Level, 220" is the part.

Just adding some bits in there so someone searching in the future can find this. It turns out many of the NP-22 parts are actually more commonly from the P220. I have been told the NP-22 is a "pre-1996" P226 clone, so many of the more common P226 parts will not work. However the older P220, has compatible parts.
