Anyone bought a new Norinco NP 29 9mm pistol
Looks like a 19111 A1 has the 9rd mag.
If so how do you like it worth the buy??
Thinking of getting one

Snipersyn,

In the pevious thread you mentioned you did a self induced break in...did you polish certain parts to make it a lot smoother? Any recommendations of areas I should focus on?

Cheers

Hey Adam -

Exactly. I did a complete detail strip of the firearm and cleaned all the packing grease from nooks and crannies not readily accessible in a field strip.

Using the buffer bit on my dremel I lightly polished the sear, hammer and disconnector assemblies the most. I also took apart the trigger assembly and lightly sanded the rails and channels. The stock trigger itself is pretty rough on the NP-29 as far as the finish is concerned, but I figure this a work-horse shooting piece and since I'm not a performance shooter (IDPA, IPSC, etc) I'm not too worried about replacing parts at this time.

Swap out the nasty grips with something better in terms of tactile feel and such. I went with Hogue.

Hope this helps.

1911a1 np 29

Just got back from the range with my new NP 29. Fired 300 RDS surplus 9mm ball thru it. Gun worked flawlessly, no stoppages and accurate enough out of the box. fit and finish good for the price seems well made.
Do not like the main spring housing made of plastic . Will change to a steel one ASAP. Put on some new grips to brighten it up.
Mags need to be broke in as springs a bit stiff . Over all pistol a eight out of ten. Recommend buy from SFRC AMMO Source who proved excellent service.

Buy one as fast as you can while the qty last

He already did:D:D:D

Got mine from SFRC too. No time for the range yet but hoping to go this week.
I'm sure it will be good like my other Norkie 1911 45s.

My NP29 will be my range go-to 1911 for reasons of economy even though I reload. Anyway, IMO, ammo savings is the main reason for the NP29's being.

9mm brass is free, 45 brass is 12c cents each and 45 acp range pickups are few and far between. I usually end up with fewer 45 brass than when I started.
But with 9mm, I go home with at least three times the brass I began with.

Yes very true, never shortage of 9mm brass pick up, sometimes 45 can be easy found as well, just ask them give you the brass if they are not going to reload them.
