Norinco NP-29 Who's got one and pics?

Anyone have one of the new NP-29's that came in? Care to post pics and a review? I'd like to order one but want some feedback first. I have had 2 1911's but very little experience swapping parts on this design.

You'd better jump in now if you still can. If you wait for everyone to post their findings chances are the current batch will be sold and it'll be too late. An email I got from SFRC about a week ago said that there were still 40 left unspoken for. They may not last all that long.

They are popular enough that even if you find you don't like it you can resell it for close to what you paid.

And the best news is that I just got my followup email saying that my order is "in process"....

We have waited many years for these NP29's to return. I sold mine (regrettably) back in 2006ish.

My NP-29 cost half of my glock but they shoot just as the same and the has same reliabilty. For a starter 1911 pistol, it is hard to beat.

I think power pill posted a photo of his he bought few years back, don't think the new ones look like that......just check out the pics in the vendor's thread, hammer, grips, trigger, slide and sights are all different and if he posted one of the new ones, I didn't think they'd come with holster wear...

Your model does look like the current production batch from CanadaAmmo or SFRC. Did you order from the latest batch or the last one?

I wish the new ones looked like the previous models. I like the more traditional appearance without those awful looking front slide serrations. Ah well.

put up a WTB ad in the pistol section. I am always looking for guns on the EE daily in case someone put one up, but have a lot more luck with people impulse selling stuff once they see the WTB ad.

in this case I am sure someone will buy the new one, like it more and sell the old style one you are looking for..... never know
