Hi, I've been trying to find answers to this question all over the internet, but does anyone know how well the sig p226 parts are compatible with the Norinco NP 22 ?

I'll probably just start with grips, but might wanna improve other stuff by throwing in some sig parts (not sure yet if it's a super good idea) or after market sig parts. Saw a great article on that, here I believe :p

Thanks alot

JP

Edit : That was a Glock build, but same kind of deal I guess.

I have one and I put the hogue grips on my np22 and it fits like a glove. not too sure about anything else. but ive heard a lot of parts are compatible

SIG/Norinco:

Grips, magazines, and maybe a few internal parts. Make sure the grips are plastic, since even the alloy SIG grips won't necessarily fit your Norinco. Mine has slightly different grip holes than my SIGs.

Slide: No, .22 kit, No, No.

Lots of threads on this topic, try the search feature and you'll be swimming in results.

Not a lot of parts you'll want to trade, other than mags & grips. Oh yes, and sights: No

SIG copy: DAC-394 (Dlask, discontinued, kits are still out there). Norinco is not a copy.

Locking block is different on the NP22 (old P226 design, I believe). It is bevelled and also rises up to form part of the frame rail that the slide rides against. The frame rail on the new P226 is a single piece from the front to the load/eject area.

I also found the sear is shaped a little differently, at least where the decocking lever makes contact. The effect of this is a small difference in the way the decocker engages. Not a functional issue really but still a muscle-memory "interrupt".

Awesome, thanks alot, so in the end, the only thing that fits are the mags and grips :p Good enough for now, wanted to get myself some hogue.

P.S. I tried searching in this forum : NP22, NP-22, NP 22, and nothing showed up... so I don't know what else I could try :p

Pachmayr grips are a big improvement because they have a steel insert to protect the mainspring instead of flexing at the center seam like the stock ones supplied. I think factory Sig or Hogues would be okay as well but the Norinco one's flex way too much for my liking.

Either a standard full strength 24lb, or reduced power 22lb Sig mainspring is much more supple than the Norinco supplied spring and improve trigger pull.

The Sig recoil spring and the Norinco one work about the same. No jams in over 1000 rounds since new with either. The Sig one looks way cooler with the woven coils and orange paint however.

The Sig firing spring, draw bar spring, and decocker spring seems about the same as factory to me. Like I said, no malfunctions with either so far. I ordered extras from Brownells with a bulk order of other stuff just to have them on hand and, to tell you the truth, I'm not even sure which ones are Norinco and which are Sig after the got mixed up in the parts bin.

As for the hammer reset spring, I broke the Norinco one during a detail strip so had no choice to go with a Sig factory spring from Brownells. Buy extras if you like to take apart your guns from time to time, it's a pretty delicate spring if you put things back together in the wrong order like I did the first time.

If I were to do it again, I would say get good grips and a good factory or reduced power mainspring for trigger pull and don't bother with the others but it's nice to know they work if you break something
