Norinco NP22 with Sig .22 conversion kit question?

Hi,
Just purchased a Norinco NP22 from another CGN member and it is coming with a Sig Sauer 226 .22 conversion kit that has been smithed to fit.
My question is what type of .22LR ammo is going to be hot enough to cycle it? Last night I was shooting a friends Sig Mosquito and the bulk box of Federal I had would cause stovepipes constantly. I am thinking the slide for a 226 will be just as heavy, if not more so, than a Mosquito's.
Anybody have an opinion on this?

CCI Blazers tend to cycle well in many semi-autos. I can't speak from experience with your rig but it's cheap and cycles perfectly in my GSG 1911. Worth a try.
 
Generally anything in the 34-40 grain range at 1200fps+ works most consistently. I like CCI and American Eagle (Federal) usually, I find Remington good but more duds, and Winchester good but a bit dirtier. Anything you get in the 525 (fed) or 333 (win) packs will have enough pop to cycle reliably.
 
I use Winchester 555 bulk pack in my P226 Classic. Runs very well and can be had for $20 a box/555rds. I've tried Federal also and it is decent. CCI mini mags is the best choice but the cost is significantly more.
 
Winchester bulk pack works great in mine as well. I have not met any ammo that will not cause some stoppages in these guns, just the nature of the beast.
