Norinco NP40

Good looks; tight as a bank vault; shoots way too high; at first spat its mags out at every round; not ideal squarish grips (Pachmayr can be adapted but don't fit perfectly).
Reliability can be faulty as "they" had the good idea to shorten the feed ramp a la Sig. I shoot LEE's 175 TC and every bullet nose sports a goofy smile after hitting the base of said feed ramp; It is a tribute to the original design that they actually reach the chamber.
Recent Meggar/CZ mags, 9 or 40, work better than the Nork ones (quality, quality...).
I like it; I just wish I could keep all the good groups in the same target spot. This does not happen with a 9mm conversion.

I wish I had found one, as I have a NZ85B, and it is about perfect once I put CZ over-molded grips on it. Norinco mags and all. Based on that I wanted to replace my NP58 with a NP40 (the 58 would only feed truncated cone shaped bullets, had a heavy trigger with a long reset; but it was accurate). I looked for months and could not fine one. I bought a Jericho all steel in .40; it shot everything. I found that I was not shooting it very much this last year, so I found it a new home.
