What are the 'after market' stock options for this rifle? From what I can find to date on the internet, there is none.

Is the NS522 similar / identical to another rifle? I understand that it is based on an Anshultz rifle(?) so would an after market stock from Richards Microfit or Boyd's be a possible option.

I am looking at improving the original stock, but it is really soft and I am concerned that it may not be worth the effort.

Thoughts please.

Thanks for that, yes, an awesome thread and it has partially answered my question.

Has anyone got a NS522 and an Anschutz 54 or 64? How dimensionally similar are the inlet? I have only found Don Stith stocks so far, does anyone know of any others.

Boyds stock are very easy to work on and with :) done one for my NS522 - looks great, have another one waiting for the winter to be processed :)

Thanks Guys, decision made.

I shall have a go at modifying the existing stock (as best I can) and if it works out well it will be the 'field' stock for hunting / plinking.

I'm also going to have a go at the Boyd's Ruger American stock too, as a trainer. Only question is which Ruger American stock please? I take it is the Rimfire Varminter? (I like the Richard's stocks, and I have one I am already working on for another rifle, but I bought it some years ago, a shame they no longer ship to Canada.)

Some months back, Keng's (the original importer of the 522) still had some of the Bishop stocks available, as well as some of the Italian-made stocks. They were/are quite expensive, and Keng's might not ship to Canada (Keng's is in Atlanta, GA). Don Stith makes fine stocks, but shipping may be an issue there as well. The stocks that Pilgrim modified to fit his 522s are impressive.

Thanks, okay so a CZ455 is closer. How much difference is there between a CZ455 and a CZ452.

The reason I ask is that I have a friend in Washington State who can still easily obtain a Richard's Microfit stock.
