norinco nz 85b (cz clone)

I just got a NP29. Seems to work good no malfunctions except for 1 of the mags doesn't want to take more than 4 rounds. A buddy and I went trough a bunch of REM 115gr FMJ, I have several others to try in it before I start to reload. For the money, I'm happy with it. Fit and finish are of lower quality but the trigger is decent, I may replace the sights down the road and will be picking up some different mags.

My entire slide was out of spec and it would eject the barrel bushing within a few magazines.

Warranty replaced it. After that it's 100%! Solid, accurate, and cycles anything.

Love mine, very accurate and reliable; however I have had a couple of issues related to what now I believe is ammo. I have over 500 rounds through mine. After about 300 the extractor broke off; I was able to rework it with diamond files and got the gun working while I waited on a warantee part from Canada Ammo (where I bought it); they had one to me in about a week.

Yesterday I had an over charged load (MaxxTech 115 gr. ammo); heavy imprints on the case head, primer blew out, gun was locked up. I was able to disassemble it but had to wait to get home before I could put the barrel on a vise and drive it out with a punch.

I think the same ammo may have contributed to the broken extractor.

Also, front sight roll pin fell out, it was broken. I have requested a replacement, and have loctited the remnants in place for the time being. Minor.

I can put 10 shots on a six inch square at 20 yards.

Mags work perfect, and with good ammo, flawless running. Right out of the box on Blazer Brass, 200 rounds, no issues.

If you can find one, buy it. They are getting scarce, and the tell me next shipments will be coming in the new year.

I have just ordered a Norinco 1911 45 also.

Oh, BTW, I found the grips slippery and a bit thick; I picked up a set of old, hard rubber CZ 75 grips. I had to file the grips a bit to get them to seat properly, and they are much better. Also the bottom of the front slide was rubbing on the front portion of the frame. I had to relieve this by filling, grinding and polishing the inside of the frame; it is good now!

I have short thumbs so the mag release is a bit of a reach for me too.

Truly I love the thing!
