NZ85 (Norinco's CZ85 clone) is gaining popularity, I for one got its attention since Norinco has a reputation of producing tough steel and already has a CZ clone. I'm used to a 1911 so I hope anybody around here could help me out regarding its reliability, accuracy, compatibility with the orig. CZ parts or anything you could share with it whether personal experience or from a fellow gun enthusiast. I already tried researching on it here but seems there aren't many or any posts yet unless I overlooked it. Thanks in advance.

I don't know about parts compatibility (Armco, help out!!!!) mine has performed flawlessly. It is accurate, and functional. The fit and finish is also far superior to either the Norinco 1911a1, or the 1911a1C.

Another recommendation for the NZ-85b. I love mine, the more I shoot it the better the trigger...I traded my Ruger Mk II for it to Marstar and I'm happy I did.

Appreciation

Thank you for the quick replies. I already called my friend who's interested with the NZ too. Problems with other magazine brands not fitting well?

I have a NZ-85 and really like it. The grips are pretty decent for a Norinco, but I put Hogues on mine. I doubt many parts are interchangeable as I took mine to Reliable and compared it to one of their CZ’s. the Slide on the Norinco is taller, the dovetail for the rear sight is about 1mm smaller and a few other things I can’t remember.

I do find the small ejection port leads to a fair bit of fouling and after 150 or so rounds in fairly quick succession have had a couple of failure to eject properly.

I did polish the ramp and the chamber lip to remove a bit of casting lip. Also take a small drill bit and by hand clean out the paint on the sights and replace with fresh paint, the grease they use seems to colour the paint.

I do plan on buying a Sig, but will keep the NZ-85

My only real complaint with this gun is that the slide is hard to grip to #### it, the serrations should have been deeper.

Slide

To sir Colin: Ahh yes, the slide. Well, I think that's their trade off for bragging the rails are on the inside for "better/increase in accuracy."

I would have to say about 500-600

it has stovepiped once, this was caused by my friend with weak wrists (limp wristing it) .

Really happy. The slide can be a little hard to rack with the hammer down.
I am thinking of butting on some grip tape for that.

I have kepted the old grips and will be shaving them down to use for IPSC.

New Piece

Thanks guys for the new replies. I'll be having mine by the 24th of this month. The only thing that worries me are the parts prone to wear and tear like the springs and barrel, if CZ barrels won't fit in then there would be future problems then. No problem with the slide and frame, I believe marstar bragging they're still forged steel.

To sir Colin: How's your recoil spring doing? Any replacements?

Got anything to replace yet?

I have had no troubles with mine.

I would suggest different grips though

Does finding different grips aren't that difficult (compatibility). They are, still clones after all.

Thanks sir, that's one factor down. BTW, I have a not so close friend who had his firing pin broken, gunsmith replaced it with one made from concrete nail. Pretty durable...

The hogues fit nicely

Was at the Santa shoot this weekend, kept getting failures to extract, we disassembled the gun couldn't see anything, but gave a good cleaning around the extractor and after that it worked fine, must have been something caught in there. I am very happy with this gun. Also CZ mags fit nicely
