I currently have the worst chu wood stock on my norinco and wanted to swap out to norinco/poly plastic or a USGI fiberglass. Which ever one i get its going to be bedded. My question is which one would perform the best? is the plastic stock flimsy? I read about a lot of people swapping their plastic out for USGI and was wondering if its for performance or just the prestige of having a USGI stock? I dont care about looks or prestige im after performance.

the "new " plastic poly/rinco uses a liner, same deal as the wood ones- and it's a mold- the usgi is a laid up fiberglas- that would make me believe that the usgi is stiffer, and it has metal imbedded in it- somewhere around the wrist , i believe
BE SURE AND READ ALL THE STICKIES WHEN YOU USE THE USGI STOCK- there are consequences if you just drop it in without the mods

The USGI fiberglass stock has a long history of taking bedding and having it hold up. I'd put my bets on it over anything that isn't glass reinforced.

The new plastic stocks are very nice, but you can't beat the feel of the GI fibreglass. I'm also willing to bet that any epoxy is going to adhere better to the glass resin than to the plastic.

The only downside to the GI stock is the weight. I swapped out my Poly stock for a USGI one.

I like BOTH of these stocks in question. I particularly like the new black plastic stocks for the zombie invasion and / or hunting. I love my USGI glass stock for serious competition and teaching/demonstrating at my clinics.

Just get BOTH of them! Or else you-know-what is gonna fall off ! :D

Peace be to journey!
