Is someone able to post a side and bottom pic of a loose Norinco rear sight aperture? I have an aperture of unknown provenance that I want to rule out as being Norinco made. It strikes me as a Winchester made Garand aperture and I just wanted to do a comparison with a Norinco to be certain. Thanks in advance.

Is it drilled off centre? If yes is your final answer its a norinco. Somebody else may have had better luck but out of my small amount not one was machined properly. I just went with gi/italian. Sorry I can help more then that mister purple. Oh I tried using a G. Sight with the Norc parts but that didn't work. Maybe try the sight with a pinion and se how it meshes? Just an idea.

Thanks a lot. Looking at the aperture face I can see that I do have a Winchester Garand aperture, not a Norinco. Both the Winchester and Breda made Garand apertures are quite different as they have a curving face without the line that appears on the face of the other ones. The Breda ones have "BMR" stamped on the front "foot" while the Winchesters normally show a Rockwell hardness test mark in the same location (mine doesn't).

Both are of good quality .
I would give the nod to Breda on better quality, because they were not rushed to make parts for rifles under wartime conditions like Winchester was.
