norinco shipping ammo

Regular
Dear Canada Ammo,
I have recently been reading regarding the potential that Norinco ammo will no longer be shipped out of China.
I do not wish to put too much stock in "hype or hearsay", so I would prefer to ask one of the larger Canadian ammunnition retailers wether this might have any truth to it?

Please everyone, let the industry business insider answer this without the "my uncle heard that a guy that knows a guy said...." or add tin foil hat theories to the questions as there are enough of those threads already.
Thanks

Just looking for some clarification as to wether there is any truth to these rumours and would appreciate your valuable input.

A happy CanAmmo customer,
Thanks.

how many treads are people going to make over this......................... Canam have already said that its not coming in anymore just go check out the other treads

hum humm, so that mean that cheap glorious red army of china ammo wont get in canada anymore.
we should expect a fall in inventory and a raise in price. when the stock finally dry up no china surplus will have no more?

sad time in the horizon i predict.

The worst part is many were caught off guard and will suffer dearly for their lack of attention

Thanks you kindly Sir, I was trying to read through some other threads but the conspiracy theorists begin to hurt the brain after a couple pages..
I appreciate you taking the time to link this.
Again,
Thanks,
S.

You need to learn the Jedi Search techniques. Search on the key words, but also search on Author, in this case "CanAm." This will allow you to find only their posts with those words.

Wont take forever for some guy who's greedy enough, or smart enough, to put 2+2 together and = $$$

Whoever hauls the Russian stuff has a open door to free money on both routes.

Boats are cheap, insurance is optional, and it's China. If you can buy a factory full of slaves then getting some paperwork is far from impossible.

Personally I'd bet my money that CanAm is using his Dark Jedi powers as we speak to come up with a viable solution. I'm kinda doubtful he's gonna let his business flush and start selling potted plants and women's underwear.

CanAm mentioned that they shipping company has no problem handling firearms still, just no ammo. They didn't mention exact reasoning but I assume the company sees ammo as "dangerous cargo"?

One would think that no more Norinco firearms will be coming in either if the freight company isnt bringing us the ammo anymore? I assume no T97's then?

Why would one think that? Norinco was not shipping the ammo. If there is a market for their firearms, and OTHER ammo is available to a certain market, they will still sell firearms. Firearms are also inert. There is much more "risk" involved when transporting ammunition.

Risky, dangerous cargo -- not like that nice, safe diluted bitumen that Enbridge and other companies send through the middle of our cities. When's the last time you heard of an ammunition explosion leveling a city? Halifax in 1917? And dilbit? Lac Megantic a few months ago.

Sorry, off topic. <click> Rant off.

You are obviously right, but the risk/reward equation for bitumen suppliers and shippers is just a tad greater, don't you think? :nest:

How did Canada Post handle your Norc ammo shipments in the past? That is right, they haven't and won't.

If we continue stating the obvious, we may be able to solve the Gun Control debate in this country once and for all! :D

china could move the ammo to a neighbor country who in turn will ship it, but the freight cost would jump the price of the ammo.

Didn't CanAm say the reason COSCO won't ship ammo was they weren't allow to enter SeaTac so don't want to hold up 8000 containers for 1 container of banned NORC product.

If so how are NORC firearms shipped?

Really? Am I missing your point? Yes, the Halifax explosion was ammunition but that was a whole different league of ammunition, as in high explosives. Small arms ammunition is incredibly safe, even when fully engulfed in flame. It's actually not that hazardous at all in the realm of hazardous cargo.

Anyways, whatever the reason is for not shipping the ammo we have to deal with it until someone comes up with a solution.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the most recent lot numbers of this ammo blowing out in the chamber...

I searched this on canadiangunnutz, for "blow out". Didn't note anything on the search. What is the story/link here? Thanks for the guidance.
