Norinco SKS-D

The SKS-D model was made for the American market, when they couldn't go in we were 2nd choice. That was the only time we got them.

Is there any dealers that have these brand new, or are going to be getting some it stock shortly? Do they still make the SKS-D? Thanks

there is a probability a dealer or a member has a brand new SKS-D but im sure there isnt too many out there . you are better off to widen your search to include "in excellent condition" , you have better luck .

SKS-D are not made any more but im pretty sure if a importer place a LARGE order the chinese are willing to make it for them .

What? The Yugoslavs added a grenade launcher to a Soviet rifle so that they could sell them to the American market? Where on earth did you come up with this tidbit? SKSs were not generally imported to the American market until the late 1980s although a few were brought back as trophies from Vietnam. The D model (technically the 59/66) was created in 1966 for use by the Yugoslavian army and for export as a military weapon. Twenty or so years before the Chinese started to export the non-59/66 version to the US for civilian use.

Edit (whoops): Oh wait. We are talking about the Norinco version of the SKS-D. Disregard everything I said except for all the interesting historical information.

Unless someone has one still in grease in a box from when they bought it, chances are very slim you'll get an unfired one. I have one with 200 rounds through it (as per the previous owner) with the nicer wood than you would see on some Chinese SKS's. That's about as close to "new" I am sure I'll ever see on this rifle.

Considering nice used ones are going for $500 or so,what would a NIB one be worth? $6-700 or more?

I was lucky to get TWO the same way, but I only wanted one for my collection. I sold my other one for $450.00 + shipping. Before I put it up for sale I compared prices here and $450.00 to $500.00 was the going price. Right now there is someone trying to move one for $700.00 with a tactical stock (oh the sadness for an SKS-D) and some spare mags and possibly the case? If it came with the original wood stock even if you sold the tactical stock and the spare mags (they typically came with two of them) you're still paying about $100.00 more than market value.

you are alittle high , remember there is a recession going on . :D

i seen a few on EE going for $400-450 and thats with one banana mag . knock off $25 if it comes with one 5 rounder.

Holy crap!! Just came across this post...
I bought mine from Epps 5 years ago, brand new $175. They still had like 10 in stock.

Now they go for $300-500 used?
Maybe I'll stop using that corrosive Czech ammo in her... LOL

The wood that came with the one I purchsed recently was so nice, I took it off so I wouldn't scratch it at the range or hunting. I don't think there's anything wrong with the tactical stock because I can adjust the butt stock(which I need). Selling one for $700, that's the crime.

What is the big deal with the Albanian bolt carrier? I want one just for the look of it but besides that is there any advantage with it?

Nothing from what I can see. They seem to be milled a little nicer... but the action is smoother with the factory carrier..

Maybe mine just needs some breaking in :p
