Can anyone tell what type of sks this is from the small picture. Is it a basic norinco. I'd just like to know so i can research a little more about them since they are local to me.

Lastly as a non gun owner going to buy his first gun is a sks like this a good choice especially if your limited in funds.:) In the $300 ballpark there is not a whole lot of choices is there for semi auto? I am mainly looking for fun at the range.:):50cal:

Based on the picture size, I think that SKS belongs to one of those mini action figures that kids play with. :)

$300 is double the usual price. I see them at gunshows for $150 obo, and even at this price they don't always sell. Lever Arms retails them for $159? or something like that. Not super accurate, but ammo is cheap compared to other calibres. I think you should get one, but not for $300.

Ok thanks. It retails for $199. He was the only dealer online i could find in N.S. who sells them. I will try calling around some in next few days.I do have $300 to spend so will probably buy one soon as my pal comes in. Its been in mail for a week now so should be here soon.:)
I just think they sound like good value for the money being semiauto and cheap.Plus they look like they are fun to shoot.:50cal:

Yes i considered the m14,i could afford it by going into my next months funds for stuff like this and putting it on credit card but i am not sure if it would be as much fun.I was in the army 15 to 20 years ago and on rifle team for 3 years so shot the fnc1 probably 50,000 times at least and the m14 kind of reminds me of that gun. The sks looks smaller and just more fun overall.
I really doubt i can shoot long range without glasses at all,i did get second at 500 deliberate in ottawa once with 47,best i ever did. I can see far still, its seeing close that kills me,i need to squint a lot and that is not perfect.hehe:runaway:
I mainly just want to shoot at 100 to 200 range and have fun.Even with my bad eyes i can still hit target i think with open sites.I do not have any urge to try to compete anymore and that is what the m14 sounds like it would be mainly for.:50cal:
