norinco sks

SKS purchases

Picked up my SKS D at the Brandon, MB gunshow for........ wait for it.... $115 brand new with 2 magazines in 1999? :D I think. Ahhh, the old days, when guns were cheap and ammo was cheap, and ranges were cheap.
 
bought mine 7 months ago off the exchange on this board from a member named whylook (great guy to deal with).

Totally mint, coated in cosmo with incredible wood (stop giggling) for $175. Ive put 1000 rounds through it without a single problem.
 
in the last few years i paid anywhere from $150 for a reg early chinese to $300 for a "D" , im happy with what i got now , the later norinco can be dissapointing .
 
speaking of Sino-Soviet it turns out I got my hands on one unknowingly. It's got the tell tale triangular 26. serial number says 1959.

No way you can tell the gun is that old. it's got a modern choate stock on it. $450 including ammo (800), bipod, scope, sling

1959 is not sino-sov , only the 1956 and 1957 have russian parts , however 1959 is also very nice .

yours is an early chinese (as oppose to norinco ) , very well made , every parts are milled and it had a blade bayo . btw , the original stock came with rear swivel on the side .

if you ever wanna sell , your sks would fit nicely in my collection , between the 1956 and 1965 both fac26. :)
 
Bought two SKS and 1150 crate in 2006 from Lever Arms for $450+ taxes. Both SKS now jus sit in the safe with no use. Jus felt like buying SKS's for a day of plinking so i did jus that. There were the side mounted swivels there too at the time. Also SKS-D was going for $450 with extra mags and pouch. Looked at it but instead bought the two and ammo. Made more sense since they are pinned to five anyways. Looking at those prices, looks like I'm gonna profit nicely:D
