Recently out shooting new (to me) Norc sportsman. It seemed extremely accurate and consistent after i got the rear sight set screw tight. Fired two mags, and couldn't remove the magazine. Took the grips off and fiddles with it for a few minutes, and the mag came out. Fired another full mag and couldn't get it out. Gave up, left it on the bench for half an hour, and the mag comes out easily. Try again, and after a mag, it's jammed up solid.

What could be causing this?? I was thinking heat was causing something to expand so the mag would not come out. It seems like the mag release will not move far enough backward to let the mag drop, pushign in on the backstrap seems to allow it to get closer, but not quite.

Any ideas?

Perhaps an isolated problem? If so, I would imagine the seller might have known about it before pawning it off on me :S

Try blasting the internals out with a cleaner to get any junk out of there. I got mine used as well and it still had a surprising amount of factory grease and gunk inside it. If you can't get it to work I will buy it off you and use it for spare parts!

I found the release finicky on those guns. I had two and sold both. The releases worked by were so tight that it took real skill to remove the mag.

Have you checked for rust or dirt in the mag well?

Are these the mags that came with or are they replacements?

Like Gillen says, see if there is any gunk left in the mag well. I use brake cleaner on guns that look clean and it removes the most amazing crap.

Give it a really good bath, then disassemble it as far as you can and look for burrs. Highly unlikely to be a heat issue. Magazines and their releases don't get hot.

That's what i thought too, but it seems the problem only crops up after firing a full mag.

I tried giving it a good clean. I grabbed my can of brake clean off of the shelf and started hosing er down. Then i noticed the grips turning white... I look at the can: CARB CLEANER. I guess there's a first time for everything :S Officially my first time spraying plastic with carb cleaner. /sigh It needed some wood grips anyway....

Anyway, the problem still persists. Lots of fiddling and wiggling with the grips off and the mag will come out. I'll have to look up how to disassemble fully and give it a good stoning.

Maybe it's not the gun but the mags? Are they sitting properly? Maybe the force of the recoil moves them slightly and that is what is making them stick?
