Norinco T-97 barrel removal?

So not threaded? Only pinned?
Did you remove a barrel? If so, was it fairly straightforward?

I was asking about this when the where first coming in , and I was told they where pinned in place , not threaded ..... at the time I wanted to build a 7mm tcu .

I wonder if there is enough thickness in the receiver and barrel shank to machine in threads ?
 
^^^Yes, this is just a close-up photo I took to help describe the process.

So, push out the 2 large hollow pins, separate barrel extension from receiver, then push out small shiny-end pin to separate barrel from extension?
What about mid-sized dull pin?
Does that also lock in barrel?

I believe the visible pin locks the sight tower. Don't have it here with me.
 
Sounds like you gotta knock a couple roll pins out, obviously take lots of pics if you decide to give it a try, some measurements would be good to, can tell if an old marlin barrel will be a workable donor
