I recall that Range Sports Unlimited in BC offered Norinco target rifles years ago.

Emphasis on the "years". Back then, they were Chinese junk. Ironically they were better built than the products offered by Norinco today. I know of 1 person who has one. Almost imposible to find because they don't come on the market that often.

I remember when the first JW-15 rifles arrived. They were better than current. Apart from the rather soft chu wood stocks, they were pretty decent, and cleaned up very nicely. Shot well. As the years went by, they got rougher, finishing detailing rather crude.

As I understand it 'Norinco' brand firearms were manufactured in a number of diferent factories and quality control can be hit or miss, and even some models varied quite a bit depending on which factory made them.I'm quite happy with mine, but then again ,I was looking for 'shooters' not 'collectors'and for my purposes they are accurate and reliable,if not showpieces

If I had any complaint,it would be once a model has sold out, they might not export any more. This means waiting for reviews might result in you not being able to get one if the reviews are good. There's a couple of models I missed, the straight stocked 94/22 model and the JW 15 th(thumbhole version)

Hit and miss accuracy and those that claim to have a "one-holer" fail to bring them out for 100 yard/meter shoots at the two clubs where we are trying to get shooters out.
About those "one-holer" claims they probably resort to the morning paper since there are no more Eaton or Simpson catalogs!

I have a Norinco 22 target rifle I got several years ago and have never shot. It sits in the back of a cabinet. Came without sights and I had a heck of a job finding a rear sight to fit the dovetail.

If memory serves the one I have is different than this and with a butterknife bolt. Likely trying to copy the Hammerli rifles. Cannot recall model number.

My take on Norinco guns in general is that they certainly do not measure up to the quality of what they copy, but then what did we pa for them. I will say that those which were imported in the early days of the 80s -90s were generally much better quality than those of recent import. I have a few Norincos from the early days and am quite happy with the fit and finish and accuracy. My early M305 will shoots exceptionally well.
