I recently acquired a Tu-33/40 .22lr Trainer from one of our members. (not sure of mfg date)
It's about a 3/4 size copy of it's K98 big sister. The rifle is an absolute dream to shoot and surprisingly groups good too!
It also doesn't rip into the bursitis anywhere near as much as the 8mm!
After a little searching I found Navy Arms Co. from the States imported a similar Norinco called a TU-KKW .22lr Trainer.
The cool thing was it came with a side mounted scope!!!!!

So there's my new quest...... Not sure us Canadians got the model with the side scope or not.
This one doesn't have one and I want one!
On the left side of the receiver there is a small side scope rail. (as seen in above pic)
Looks small compared to say a SKS, or AK 47 side rail. I'm not sure any regular mount would fit the small rail.
Maybe someone who has or had a Norinco Tu tried to mount a scope on the side?
I see a few with the conventional top mount scopes...but that's no fun.
More to follow...
