Norinco "woodsman"

Hey all you Norinco guys, how good is the Norinco copy of the woodsman.
will it keep all the shots in a one inch circle at 20yds? two inch? can it hit the backstop?
My brother in law is looking at getting an entry level 22 handgun, but his price limit is 250 bucks. He was looking for used , but we saw a marstar ad and I know the origional woodsman was a fairly good pistol. It will be used for informal target shooting

Tell him to add $100 and pick up a new Ruger 22/45 from Wholesale Sports. He'll be glad he spent the extra $$ and got the Ruger. Or see if he can get a used Ruger MkII...

I have the Nork woodsman and it can be a great little gun, it will not shoot as well as the Ruger, but if money is an issue the Nork is the way to go. He can practice to his heart’s content and then move up as he gets more money. Mine has around 5,000 rds through it.
 
I have a Nork woodsman. About 4000 rds or so through it. The trigger is like a spounge now. When you squeeze it, some times it goes off, some times it don't. Spend the extra cash and get a decent gun.
 
Average gun. Not good, nor bad. Average sights, trigger, reliability. A ##### to reassemble if you didn't re-assemble it properly. I would suggest not to pay over 150$ for one.

Mine prefers Remington Thunderbolt ammo.
 
I haven't shot the Norc , but if you cruise the EE Their are always lots of deals on namebrand pistols that IMO will provide a better value .
The non-prepped Norcs I have shot have terrible triggers ,the prepped ones are much better .

thanks, but what is the EE?
my brother in law is going the used route instead of the Norinco, it only took a
couple of bad reviews. I would expect a 22 semi to handle at least 10.000 rounds without showing any major trouble

I am actually in the process of selling my M93 Norc, but I can honestly say I never had any issues with it whatsoever (other than being a bit of a ##### to reassemble from stripping).

Ate anything I fed it and never jammed at all that I can recall.

1" circle @ 20? Cant see it.

2"? I still doubt it, I almost certainly couldn't.

It's not a bad little pistol though, but you aren't going to win any accuracy awards with it in my experience.. or I wouldn't! :)

Go with a used Ruger Mark I or II, You won’t regret it. You can usually find them used for $250-300 in the EE. To bad I didn’t see this earlier; I just sold my Ruger for $250 including shipping
