I have the opportunity to buy a quantity of 20 round boxes of Norinco 7.62x39 ammo in yellow boxes marked "non-corrosive". So I wanted to ask some of you what would be a reasonable price for said ammo, given the lack of non-corrosive 7.62x39 out there for sale. What would you be willing to pay for them? Thx.

I would pay about 4 bucks per 20 round box, but then again, I am also sitting on a ####pile of non-corrosive 7.62x39mm ammo I had stocked up on Norinco non-corrosive Silverbox when it was still 130 bucks for 1200 rounds. Someone a little more desparate might pay up to 7 bucks a box. Anything more than 7 bucks a box is too much IMHO as Igman reloadable 124 grain SP ammo is ~10.25 a box for 20 rounds.

Personally, I think too much time is wasted on worrying if its corrosive or not. I've had my sks for 20 years, shot whatever ammo I could get my hands on. Mostly green box on strippers and the silver boxes. It sits for months at a time, and I maybe cleaned it 3-4 times in that period and still have yet to run into a problem. The bore and piston and cylinder still look next to new, and even if problems arise it's only a couple hundred bucks for another one.

I wasn't particularily worried about using corrosive...actually i plan on buying a case of it too. I just wanted to hear from the 'nutz what was the going rate of non-corrosive was, as that was what I had the opportunity to buy. I figured a fair price would be a little more than the +/- 18 cents a round that the corrosive stuff is going for.
