Norinco

Snipping indeed

Just curious if any knows about this Norinco

7.62x54 High Precision Snipping Rifle (yes it says snipping and not sniping)

Yes, that is one hell of a ####ty rifle in my opinion. not that it may not be effective at the specified ranges, but the ammo is not far from the .308 nato rounds. in addition to what I have heard (7.62x54 tail boats, A LOT). The overall length on 1m makes me wounder how long and good the barrel is, and what the twist rate on it is.

If it's under $500, i think its worth getting to play around with, otherwise, I highly don't recommend it.

I am a new shooter myself and I am working on building a savage 12fv with a choate stock at the moment and it is competitive in pricing with this rifle here and it will out perform it.

but like I said, i'm a beginner and this could be a good rifle to play around with.

Which choate stock?

A norinco thread in the precision forum? Now I've seen everything :D

I'd like to shoot one. I'd like to hear a review from somebody who has shot one. I highly doubt I would pay $1800 for it though...

When I read the thread title, I thought the "precision" forum has really sunken to an all time low. Perhaps it is time to change the name to the "Any rifle with a scope and a bipod" forum.

I'm sure it is a one hole gun using Chi-Com surplus and a Leepers scope. Benchresters look out.

BTW, there is a black rifles forum

x2

But maybe allow it when Norico can spell SNIPE

Looks like they (norinco) employed corporate 'espionage' and liberated the plans for the new line of Savage rifles which in turn were stolen from the props guy from the movie 'blade runner' back in 1982;)

I often wondered if Norinco was actually pronounced 'Noinco'? But I know the manufactures of these fine quality products claim 'pecession' and not precision; as to not making a fraudulent claim about their firearms....

I went through two of them before I got one that would shoot or not slam fire... 'Hit or miss' I think is the key words with Norinco. The association of the word: 'precision' does not ring a bell when I think of these guys. The last straw was a 1911 that was another dog. Gave up on them a longtime ago.
