So was out with my Nork 54-1 today and this thing is a workhorse, i was feeding it Nork ammo of course, the new production that CA and Tenda sells and prb many others. The orange and black boxes......i have used this ammo in the past in this gun with no issues but today i happen to inspect spent cases a bit closer.
I shot 2 boxes and had at least 5 with the casenecks split all the way down to the bottleneck area. Anyone else have this issue? Gun related? Not sure at this point. I see that surplus ammo seems to be prone to this but maybe just the case of cheap ammo? Safe to continue to use?

thanks

This ammo has 3 dot staking of the bullet in order to keep it in place. Due to this, case cracking is common. This phenomenon is observed on many surplus loads from many comblock manufacturers. Mainly Polish and Russian that utilize same type or has same 3 point staking.
It has no ill effect on performance or accuracy. its not like you going to reload the cases aren't you?
One thing to worry is that this ammo still can be corrosive. 17.99 +tax per 50 lol shouldn't be , however here is some proof.

Yupe no reloading for sure, maybe because i have just started reloading i am paying more attention to my fired cases that i noticed. Seemed very accurate just wanted to make sure.
thanks.
btw interesting about the possibility of corrosive ammo...hmmm...this lot is from 2014 as well. I always clean everything after each range trip but good to know anyways.
