nork m14 shorty trigger problem.

iam very impressed with the rifle but my safty needs to be pushed in with the tip of my finger to engae,i mean it engages way past the interior of my trigger guard. I cannot engae the safty properly ,is there a way to adjust the safty?

The easy method is to cycle it a lot...it will get better with use.

Add some grease at the right spot.

Break it in by cycling it dry. Wear a glove if necessary. It should burnish the metal surfaces. Add grease later.

Just don't (please put down that Dremel) modify it mechanically or physically because dire consequences will result. Work it lots and you are good to go. And also the grease will help. When I used to hunt groundhogs with my M14, I would work the safety off, very slowly....

If the tab is sitting too far inside the guard to actuate correctly, there really is no way to adjust.
Perhaps check with your retailer and see if they will exchange it for you.
Otherwise, it's a trigger group overhaul with hammer and safety replacement a possibility.
If it's just really stiff, cycling dry should break it in somewhat.
